The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--This is NOT an April Fools gag.  It is such a lackluster week for new releases I decided to just leave my template images of ScarJo in place for your viewing pleasure.  After all, nothing says Happy Easter better than Scarlett Johansson!  Well, maybe Kate Upton does:

--I have not been able to find a Best Buy ad for the upcoming week by my Saturday night deadline.  They are usually released in my local newspapers by Saturday.  However, I have been unable to find one--even though I have searched at several stores.  I also was unable to find one on the internet anywhere.  I am guessing this is one of those weeks they don't have a Sunday flyer.

--Best Buy Odds and Ends:  None to report.

--Target this week is advertising a "Limited Edition" of Game of Thrones: Season 1 ($14.99 DVD/$19.99 Blu).  It looks as if season 1 has been packaged in standard Blu cases.  There is a sticker on the front of the package that says Limited Time Savings.

--Target is also advertising  a bunch of "New Release" DVDs for $17.99.  Titles shown include Interstellar, Penguins of Madagascar, Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Exodus: Gods & Kings, The Imitation Game and Night at the Museum 2 (which is what's pictured.  A mistake?  Maybe they meant Night at the Museum 3?).  Each DVD shown and selected others.  Find additional Cartwheel savings on these titles and more.

--Target Odds and Ends: None to report.

Might start to get hard to find a BB add in the coming months.
I've seen reports of them not being included in papers already.

"Singles" eventually, but I'll wait for a price drop. Gosh, I was obsessed with that movie back in the day, I bought the soundtrack and played the crap out of it.

Thanks for the list. Just INVADERS FROM MARS for me. Another Scream Factory title that I will watch the extras on and then throw on eBay.

Thanks for the Roundup, Mike.

A Most Violent Year and The Immigrant are both good and I recommend checking them out if you're interested, but I think I'll wait until price drops to add them to my collection.

That's odd. I checked today's (Sunday's) Idaho Statesman and the BB advert is missing. But I won't feel that the end of the world is approaching until there's no Harbor Freight advert in the paper.

There was no Best Buy insert in my Sunday newspaper this morning.

We've put in for review copies of Grantchester, For the Boys, Sharkey's Machine, and Hooper, but not sure if any will be forthcoming.

Already pre-ordered Imitation of Life for myself and will likely get a few more of this week's releases in the upcoming months.

Happy Easter to all, and thanks, Mike!

Not so unusual for Easter Sunday as they are closed for Easter. I believe this has happened before in some years.
Thanks
Greg

Looks like a week for me to replace some older DVD's for new Blu's:
  • Invaders From Mars
  • Journey to the Far Side of the Sun
  • Thunder Road

Definitely getting Singles. But I'm hoping it's just a precursor to getting Linklater's other unreleased-on-BD films like Before Sunrise/Sunset. Doesn't make sense to me that they'd release Before Midnight without the other two movies in the trilogy...
