I'm looking for some sort of RF demodulator for a laserdisc player for around $110 shipped. If you have one laying around, please let me know and I'll probably buy it. Thanks, [email protected]

Doesn't Radio Shack sell an RF demodulator for around $30? Or won't that work for you?

The radio shack thing is a RF Modulator. Helps with older TV's that don't have AV inputs. A RF Demodulator is for use with a LD player that outputs Dolby Digital (previously called AC-3) signals. They are fairly hard to find these days, but checking here and eBay (aka ePay) can yeild one for a decent price.

I use my extra Sony stand-alone AC-3 decoder to do the task.

Work great and cost no more than $100

Thuan,

Which model of Sony is this? Is it still available, and if so, where should we look? Will it pass a demodulated AC-3 signal to a new receiver?

Thanks

The cheap stand alone Sony not ES

Cost me $100 2yrs ago as open box at Bestbuy

Can't remember the model, something with "8" and it was comparable with the Technics stand alone AC3

You might find it on eBay
