A friend of mine recently bought a 50in Sony Grand Wega III. I went over with my S&V Tune-up DVD and my Radio Shack SPL Meter.
Things like tint, brightness, color were set same as a CRT set. Contrast and sharpness however were not. Under full contrast there is no blooming. Full sharpness showed no problems that I could detect on the grid. Do sharpness and contrast behave differently on LCD RPTV. Do new tune up DVD's have new patterns or tests? Where should you set contrast and sharpness on an LCD set or does it not make a big difference?
I must say again that I'm really impressed by the Sony Grand Wega. I find the picture more than satisfactory in all respects and quite spectacular on the whole. I also didn't notice any obvious stuck pixels on his set.
