We all know that 2004 was an incredible year for TV shows coming to DVD. Just look at your own personal collection.

We know some of the shows that are coming out in early 2005 thanks to www.tvshowsondvd.com. Anyone have any guesses as to what other shows will finally be available on DVD in 05'?

Gord or David, if you want to give us a teaser... (throw us a bone, perhaps?)

We know that a lot of series will be continued. Series such as M*A*S*H, Friends, The Simpsons, Andy Griffith, and many many more from all kinds of studios.

My prediction for one series that will see a release on DVD this year is actually a continuation.

Mary Tyler Moore.

I agree with Casey on all counts, and I agree with Jim on most of those. (I'm praying for Cosby Show)

Survivor 2 has been confirmed; hopefully a few other seasons are going to be released too.

The Wacky Races spinoffs are apparently coming out too.

Series that are "new to DVD" completely in 2005? Well, combing news items since the last day of May, I find that the below list of properties have been said by TVShowsOnDVD to be coming in 2005 with some degree of certainty. I leave off titles like "Scrubs", where essentially we just have a single cast member talking it up (and actually saying quite contradictory things along the way) (and don't forget that I *LOVE* "Scrubs" and am desparate to get it!). Edit: Scrubs now "for-sure" and has been added to the list.

Bear in mind that not everything said to be coming out a given time period ends up coming out when expected. For instance, not long ago Universal sent out a press release that had a massive list of titles, and said Amazing Stories would be out in November. They are now announcing January titles and still no sign of the show. "Amazing Stories" probably belongs on the below list as well...we know other "for sure in '04" shows like Vice, Bionic Woman, and Kojak got pushed back; AS probably did as well.

Speaking of Bionic Woman, it makes sense to expect Six Million Dollar Man in 2005 as well, since that remake with Jim Carrey is planned for '05 and the tie-in is natural...but I don't know that for sure, so I didn't put it down. Edit: Six Million Dollar Man is also now "for-sure" and has been added to the list!

My list isn't a wish list, it's a "what I know today" list! :D

Hey, if we keep this thread going through the rest of the year, maybe I'll post the resulting list as a news story at TSoD coming New Year's Eve! How's that for an idea! :)

Thanks for that list Dave! I didn't know Sweet Valley High, Coach, Dragnet (new) & Dharma & Greg were coming next year? That's cool. I missed the memo on those.

I have hopes that Casey Werner will release Grounded For Life (maybe in time for the next season if there is one) & Anchor Bay to release Profit seeing there doing a good job of releasing Stephen J Canell's other shows.

Wow, what a list! I think I'm broke now. Maybe a 2nd mortgage is in order! :)

Anyway, it would be nice to keep that list up to date, and add release dates when you find out what they are!

I've still got to put some money on Paramount releasing The Fugitive in 2005.

Gary "can't say I'm too cracked up about the latest news from the HB cartoon front - there are so many great quality cartoons that deserve releases before the Wacky Races spin offs we've heard about recently" O.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see more Golden Girls since the Complete FIrst Season has been selling so well on pre-order from Amazon, etc. I also can't wait for more Mary Tyler Moore Show and Murder, She Wrote: Season One.

And don't forget about Undeclared, which Shout! Factory should have out sometime in the spring.

Good call, Roni. I forgot that one, but I've just added it to the list!

P.S. - I just thought of a couple more, too.

Thanks David for that list... you've more than whetted our appetite. I guess I will have to find that second or third job now for sure.

NewsRadio had better come out in 2005. otherwise, I may have to hurt someone.

my wishlist is: The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Jake 2.0, Reboot seasons 1&2, Space: Above and Beyond, and The State. though I'm not holding my breath for any of them.

Well, I took David's list (thanks for posting that BTW) and added to it a lot of series that will be continued next season and am going to try and keep track to the best of my ability.

Anyway, since this has become a wishlist thread again...
I hope 2005 sees the release of...
The Adams Family
Daria
Duckman
The Real Ghostbusters
He-Man
She-ra
Welcome Back Kotter
among others

Well, I think we'll probably see Tiny Toon Adventures in 2005. WB has had a lot of success with its releases of animated shows; they can't go on sitting on the Spielberg stuff forever, and Tiny Toons is the logical place to start. So, though I don't have any actual evidence of this (beyond an unfounded rumor on some other message board), I'm guessing TTA gets announced for sometime in 2005, followed by Animaniacs and perhaps Pinky and the Brain.
