edit: title should read bedROOM

it's only a 25inch memorex mt1125a version2 and the dvd player is a jvc xv-s42.

no matter what i do, the picture looks just aweful.
i've been using different thx optimizers just for a template (my VE disc is at work right now)

is there a service menu for this set?
anything else i can do?

Albert, this may be a case of a set that simply cannot be made to look better, no matter what you do. Some TVs really are that bad.

Years ago, I had the amusing chance to attempt taming an acquaintence's 27-inch GE. Nuttin doin', bro'. That GE was so far off the mark, and made of such substandard parts, there was nothing one could do but to reduce the chroma levels and try to find some reasonable balance in the tint.

No matter what, every image on that GE had the appearance of what the world looks like at the onset of an acid trip.

Some TVs simply are beyond fixing.
