I don't know Izabella Scorupco, but I found her doing a search for Izabella Mizo.

Between her, Izabella Miko, and Yvonne Strahovski, I'm going to go ahead and say Polish women FTW.

You evidently never watched Goldeneye.

Must agree about Strahovski as well; it hadn't occurred to me that she was ethnic Polish since I think of her as being Australian.

Yeah, she's pretty eye-opening in the ads for that silly Sandler movie. Yee-Ming, no, I've never seen Goldeneye. As I was forced to admit at another area of this forum, I've only seen the recent Casino Royale as far as Bond films go. I've read all of the Fleming books, however!

Greg, do you recommend the Ian Fleming "Bond" books? I've seen all the movies, but I've never read any of the books. Do all the titles match the movie titles? Thanks.

The books are pretty cool. You'll definitely get hooked once you start. They lose a little bit towards the end, but even the later ones are readable. One major caveat: the early ones have some racist passages. I'm not one to see racism under every rock, but it's undeniably present in some of these books.
As far as I know, just thinking back, the only Bond movie title without a corresponding book is Goldeneye. That was the name of the place in Jamaica where Fleming wrote the books. Even Quantum of Solace was the title of a short story (that had nothing in common with the film. Again, not having seen the films, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think Dr. No and Goldfinger were pretty close to the books, as examples. Moonraker, on the other hand, was way different. No space, for one thing! The Moonraker was a missile purportedly designed to defend England. It flew high enough that it almost "raked" the moon.
Edit: well, a couple of the other titles were made up . . . TWINE, for one.

The phrase "The World is Not Enough" isn't the title of any of the Bond novels or short stories, but it is "canonical" because it does appear in the book (and film) On Her Majesty's Secret Service. When Bond is learning about heraldry from Sir Hilary Bray, he is told that Orbis non sufficit (the Latin translates as "The World [or Globe] is Not Enough" in English) is the motto of Sir Thomas Bond (a real person) and his descendants, and that James might number among them. (Although Bray thinks this unlikely, as James Bond's paternal ancestors are from Scotland, not England. Still, a branch of Sir Thomas's family may have settled north of the border. Bond's mother, of course, was Swiss.) Bond Street in London derives its name from Sir Thomas.

Regards,

Joe
