Does anyone know if the Tivo or any other similar device can record both DirecTV as well as cable/antenna programs??

A Tivo (or Replay) can, but it will re-compress the satellite broadcasts resulting in generation loss.

A 'DirecTivo' does not have this generation loss, but cannot record antenna or cable.
