Why is there that 15,750hz "TV buzz" still present in a plasma screen?

Scientific confirmation that I'm not nuts
Spectrum analysis averaging a regular broadcast, so that buzz is in the signal on all channels! What are they doing there?

Found out the answer! Turns out the 'buzz' is used to synch the TV sweep rate to the signal and basically replaces the manual controls that were on the old TV sets.
