Title: The Seven Year Itch (1955)

Genre: Comedy, Romance

Director: Billy Wilder

Cast: Marilyn Monroe, Tom Ewell, Evelyn Keyes, Sonny Tufts, Robert Strauss, Oskar Homolka, Marguerite Chapman, Victor Moore, Donald MacBride, Carolyn Jones, Dolores Rosedale, Kathleen Freeman, Doro Merande, Ron Nyman, Tom Nolan, Ralph Littlefield, Dorothy Ford, William H. O'Brien, Steven Benson

Release: 1955-06-03

Runtime: 105

Plot: With his family away for their annual summer holiday, Richard Sherman decides he has the opportunity to live a bachelor's life. The beautiful but ditzy blonde from the apartment above catches his eye and they soon start spending time together—maybe a little too much time!

I really love this film. I saw there was a 4k screening done in 2015.

It’s a shame that Disney has no plans for issuing Fox catalog films in 4K. I’d love to pick this one up.

One more oddity ITunes only currently has this film available to rent. It can be purchased on vudu, prime, etc…

Same.

Has this happened before on iTunes where a film is changed to rental only and then delisted for sale?

All About Eve and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes are rental only on iTunes now too.

Only saw this movie once on tv, but so long ago that I barely remember it. But I've got a blu-ray of it in my Marilyn set, which I don't think I've ever watched. Maybe I'll play that blu-ray for the first time soon.

1955 was a really good movie year from my pov.

Osato: Where does the Seven Year Itch rank on your list for 1955?

Here's my list for 1955, but the order is pretty random, esp. after the top ten....

East of Eden
The Man From Laramie
Not as a Stranger
Bad Day at Black Rock
Artists and Models
The Trouble With Harry

Picnic
The Cobweb
Daddy Long Legs

etc.
