NEW YORK, NY -- March 1, 2017 -- Kino Lorber is proud to announce the Blu-ray and DVD release of The Lovers on the Bridge, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Leos Carax (Mauvais Sang, Holy Motors). Starring Juliette Binoche and Denis Lavant, and presented by Martin Scorsese, The Lovers on the Bridge is one of the most spectacularly romantic films of the 1990s.

The film will become available on Blu-ray and DVD on March 14, 2017, with a SRP of $34.95 for the Blu-ray and $29.95 for the DVD. Special features include a booklet essay by Ignatiy Vishnevetsky, Water and Stone, a video essay by Cristina Álvarez López & Adrian Martin (courtesy of MUBI), and the trailer.

The Lovers on the Bridge follows the intense, convulsive relationship between one-eyed artist Michele (Juliette Binoche) and alcoholic street performer Alex (Denis Lavant). Paris' oldest bridge, the Pont Neuf, is their home and their stage as they break up and get back together in increasingly explosive reunions both figurative and literal, including a jaw-dropping re-creation of the fireworks display that marked the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution.

Originally famous for budget overruns (Carax built an enormous set of the bridge and its environs), The Lovers on the Bridge is now justly revered as a deliriously entertaining depiction of amour fou.
