4 lead females from Desperate Housewives all got noms? Doesn't the Foreign Press watch any other show in the "comedy" category? Hello: Lauren Graham, Stockard Channing, Debra Messing.

Prison Break and Commander In Chief are nominated for best drama but 24 and (especially) Deadwood aren't? That's just silly.

EDIT: Just read Adam's post- Yeah, where is Arrested Development's comedy nomination? That's even sillier. :)

Plus, I've heard that it sucks this year.

Where the hell is The Office? Yeah, that's great that Steve Carell got nominated, but the series itself deserved a nod.

And Arrested Development getting shut out is inexcusable.

Glad to see the Prison Break, Lost and My Name is Earl noms.

The Desperate Housewives noms don't seem right, not all 4 leads anyway.

Yeah, the DH actress noms are ridiculous. I think the Foreign Press just want to see a catfight (or report on one).

You heard wrong. ;)

While it may not be as great as last year, it still is an excellent show and I am happy to see it recognized.

I think the absense of "Battlestar Galactica" is inexcusable. Scifi or not, it is one of the best shows on television.

Also would have liked "Scrubs" and "Arrested" nods, though I'm glad Zach got nominated.

No arrested, no veronica mars, NO INTEREST by me.

Honestly, I'm sick of them nominating EVERY single actress from just one series... BORING...

I'm surprised Wentworth Miller got a nom for "Prison Break". While I love the show, I think the supporting cast is stronger performance-wise than the leads.

The total lack of nominations for both Arrested Development and Veronica Mars is crazy. I know that relatively few people watch these shows, but I thought the foreign press liked to seek out the quirkier and more inventive stuff. Sigh.

I'm not sure I want to know anyone who thinks that Charlie Sheen is a better comedic actor than all the actors on AD. In what universe is this possible?

I am also surprised at the nominations for Wentworth Miller and Prison Break. I love watching it, but c'mon, does anyone really think that it is one of the five best dramas on television? Seriously? It's almost cartoonish at times (even though I love it). Pure swiss cheese.

And Wentworth is the prettiest thing on TV, but it's not his incredibly layered and textured performance that I'm admiring.

I think Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen are perfectly cast in Two and a Half Men, which produces a lot of LOL's from me when I watch the show, so I think maybe Jon Cryer got shortchanged.

AD did get nominated the past two years for best show and Jason Batemen did win best actor, so it's not like the foreign press doesn't like the show. This season has been on hiatus twice so that could have something to do with it, and it's time to make room for the new shows.

Good to see Everybody Hates Chris get a nod right out of the gate. And that reminds me how much I miss Entourage.

Don't know anything about Weeds since we don't get Showtime.

What exactly is the timeframe criteria for the nominations? Is it January to December 2005? Because a show like "Prison Break" would then be judged on less than 13 episodes (depending when nominations were due), whereas something like "24" had a full season's run within 2005. And a returning show like "Housewives" would have had the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2 in 2005.
