The Fan - can anyone explain the dialogue switch?

    As detailed over at dvdfile - can anyone explain why this has been done?
    I've never seen the film before and got the disc today (I love really bad movies!). If I hadn't known about it it wouldn't bother me at all but now I do...!
    I probably need to get out more!:b

    I would suspect because its offensive to women (or anyone really)! When I first saw the film theatrically in 1981, the audience audibly gasped at that line! I have a crummy looking pan and scan laser disc that I was looking forward to dumping when I got the DVD. I'll still upgrade but now I just may keep the laser disc because the meat cleaver line is still there on the laser disc.
