SVS team:

Why does a sub driver bottom out or better yet what kind of input must be present for a driver to bottom out? Let’s take the SVS 25-31. Will it bottom out if it’s fed a strong input below 25Hz or would it require a strong input above 25Hz to bottom out the driver?

Thanks Bob

A driver will bottom out when it reaches a mechnical limit of some sort during extreme excursion demands. Here's a graph showing all three CS subs...the 25-31 is the yellow trace. You can visulize what freqs will be a problem for the 25-31cs.(mainly loud signals under 20hz).
