I'm sure you've heard the expressions used to describe someone who's, let's say, not entirely with it, such as "one can short of a six pack" or "not the sharpest knife in the drawer". I came up with a few using Home Theater terminology:
  • "His brightness (or sharpness) is set low"
  • "One tube shy of a projection TV"
  • "The player's on but the disc tray is empty"
  • "One disc short of a special edition"
  • "His/her changer is missing a few discs"
  • "Not running on all speakers"
  • "His brain's off and he lost the remote"
  • "He/she's getting snowy reception"
  • "One channel short of surround"
  • "His/her convergence is off"

He has more than 200 DVDs. ;)
The lights on his receiver are on but it's not connected to anything.
