I notice a few people have been asking about this title, and possible releases outside the US.
There is a review of the r2 UK release scheduled for Oct 15
    on www.r2-dvd.org
It does include a DTS track, and is anamorphic.
Picture quality is said to be a big improvement over the previous releases.
The "box" for this is pretty unusual, and there are pictures of it on the above site - it is basically in the shape of a 3D pyramid, which will make storing it difficult.

Thanks for the review link, Simon.
This has been at the top of my import list ever since I found out about it. I'll be happy when I finally have a Stargate DVD that I am pleased with.

I ordered a copy of the R2 German release last week (same specs as the UK version, but already released) and eagerly await its arrival.

The picture is quite an improvement to previous releases. Unfortunately all the added scenes in this directors cut are of a lesser quality (and there is no seamless branching available). If you watch the movie you can quote by the video quality if a scene belongs to the cinematic version or to those lately added scenes.
