I am aware of the compromise in sound quality in a soundbar, but I have decided for simplicity and my needs that I will get on to compliment my 47" LCD TV.
I am choosing based on simplicity, cost, and features included.
It must have ipod capabilities, and an FM radio included. It must not require a receiver to be driven. I prefer an included subwoofer, but I can always add that separately if I deem it necessary. I would really like to have an included DVD player, but can add it separately if I absolutely have to (althought don't like to add the wires, etc).
So here are my picks (green). I would love to hear feedback. The Phillips, and Samsung are all in ones with DVD, FM, ipod dock, which makes them very high on the list. If the Yamaha 4000 had DVD, it would be my choice already. I am not fond of the separate control unti on the Polk, which almost takes it out of the running.
