Can the Sony S7000 DVD player play

DVDs coded for regions other than region 1?

Early models of the 7000 manufactured before mid 1997 included an internal switch that allowed it to change region. Players manufactured after mid 1997 did not have this switch and could only play discs from one region without an internal modification.

So to answer your question, no, DVP-S7000s won't play discs from other regions out of the box.
