Hello,

This is my first post on this forum. I am considering purchasing the BDP-S550 and am wondering what would be the better video connection to my Mits RPTV (WS48413) : standard component video, or HDMI with a HDMI / DVI adapter ? Is upconcersion of standard DVD's available via HDMI only ? My audio connection to my Denon AVR 3300 would be thru the 5.1 analog inputs.
Thanks in advance.

Question 1: I would try both types of connections and see which one is better to the eye. I would suspect that the HDMI to DVI connection would be marginally better than component.

Question 2: Yes, upconversion of SD DVDs is only available through the HDMI connector. Use of an HDMI to DVI connector should allow you to upconvert your DVDs.
