unfortunately. mine is fixed @ 90Hz, anybody think that it might be to high to set it at 90 or 95?

My Yamaha sets the crossover at 90. I guess they know why.

I have read a lot about localization of sounds at this level and therefore set my sub slightly forward of the front mains (in the circle).

Works for me. I think the key is to turn your sub's internal cossover all the way up and let the receiver do the cutoff.
