I am looking to purchase a new 27" tv, as this is the biggest I can go considering my space. I have been looking at these two tv's, and they both have great picture, but the samsung is HDTV while the Tau is not. My question is, is getting HDTV on a 27" screen worth the extra $350 in price I will have to pay for the Samsung over the Tau? I am going to get a progressive scan dvd player, no matter what, but will the 480p really make that much of a difference on a 27" set? Or will the picture quality of the Tau be enough for watching DVD's on a 27"er. Thanks

Get the HD ready set...Samsung is now offering a 200 rebate which puts the set at 699...If you are getting a progressive scan DVD player, you can not use the progressive scan function on a Non HD ready set..
