I have had my Hitachi 46F500 Rear Projection CRT High-Definition TV for 11 months now. Over the past few months, I noticed a very strange occurrence when watching movie credits. Maybe someone out there has an explanation for this. When I watch a movie, I like to mimic the theater experience as close as possible. This means that I have all the lights turned off during the viewing. I have noticed that when the credits start to roll, and they are designed as white text on a black background, if my eyes jump VERTICALLY from the TOP of the screen to the BOTTOM of the screen against the direction of the flow of the text (usually from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen) all the text gets a neon green halo to it! It is the strangest thing! This only happens when my eyes are in motion and it is white on black. If I focus directly on the white text and follow it all the way up to the top of the screen, the text remains white. Anybody out there have any idea what causes this phenomenon?
