In addition to making streaming boxes and TV blueprints (and accompanying OS) it looks like Roku is producing their own TVs now

More likely Hisense or some other Chinese OEM manufacturer. These are likely entry-level displays that do not include QLED or mini-LED display technology. Is it possible they're just TCL?
Up until this year, Roku was licensing its OS to TV manufacturers like TCL, Hisense, etc. They have been making them for years.
I have one. About 5 years old. It still works great.
A 55" one.
I have a TCL. 55" one. Works great. Has Roku TV. 4K on it!Up until this year, Roku was licensing its OS to TV manufacturers like TCL, Hisense, etc.
Exactly. My newest set is a TCL 55" with Roku and I rarely even use it for that very reason.I suppose there's really no reason not to, since the panels are outsourced anyway.

I want to toss this in, Roku TVs suck if you use the OTA tuner. They have NO direct channel access. You have to go through the menu.
The Roku Ultra streaming box does offer Bluetooth headphone support.FFS, why won't Roku let you Bluetooth wireless headphones and airpods? Or did I miss that.
Chromecast for me.Except for bedroom TVs. Then the integrated smart TV stuff is great!
If this is the case, I am unable to locate that model. A link to the correct model would be great appreciated. The Roku Ultra streaming box does offer Bluetooth headphone support.
I really detest Chromecast for video use, and only use it when absolutely necessary for video.Chromecast for me.
Curious as to why.I really detest Chromecast for video use, and only use it when absolutely necessary for video.
I prefer a standard remote to control my video. I also do not like having to open the app on my phone/tablet, select what I want to watch, hit play, then the cast button, then select where I want to cast to. If someone in the room asks to back up a few seconds because they missed what someone said, that is a major pain to do on most apps.Curious as to why.
I’ve never used Chromecast. Is it basically to stream from a mobile device to a TV?
