I suppose there's really no reason not to, since the panels are outsourced anyway.

Is it possible they're just TCL?

I want to toss this in, Roku TVs suck if you use the OTA tuner. They have NO direct channel access. You have to go through the menu.

Exactly. My newest set is a TCL 55" with Roku and I rarely even use it for that very reason.

Curious as to why.
I prefer a standard remote to control my video. I also do not like having to open the app on my phone/tablet, select what I want to watch, hit play, then the cast button, then select where I want to cast to. If someone in the room asks to back up a few seconds because they missed what someone said, that is a major pain to do on most apps.

Then there are the times where the app will lose connection with the Chromecast, and the only way to stop what is playing is to try and reconnect.

I’ve never used Chromecast. Is it basically to stream from a mobile device to a TV?

This type of device is at least a couple of generations old. The current model is actually quite similar to a Roku Express 4K. It connects directly to the TV, has a standalone remote and also allows basic control of the TV via Google Home or Nest displays.
