Replaced Mac G5 dvd/cd burner? (1 Viewer)

I'm looking into purchasing a G5 and I was wondering how hard or if it is even possible to swap out the dvd burner with somethingelse that supports + and - media? Will the OS work with a different drive?

Check out xlr8yourmac.com for drive reviews and other info such as iDVD, iTunes, DiskCopy compatibility. They have an entire Database of info on this type of stuff. It is possible and not hard to do. The models change so fast, I couldn't really provide a recommendation on a specific burner.
