Im going to be getting the X Box

in 2 weeks. I would like to get a warranty

for a year on it. I was at toysrus today and

they told me you cant buy extended warranty.

Their warranty is only 9 weeks. This is a concern

to me because If Im paying big money for these

two systems I would like to make sure they will

both work. The game cube I really have no worries

about it since nintendo is been around.

It's X-Box that draws my attention, since I

heard at launch there has been some problems on the

inital release. There new to the game console

industry so this is why Im concerned a bit. I

would just like to have a year warranty to be

secure. So I was wondering if anyone out there

in Toronto, who has bought one or is looking

knows of any store I can get this option?.

I got a extended warranty on my Discmen this

year at Future Shop. So I think I might be

able to do this there but Im not sure yet.

Anyways that's it. Thanks For Reading.

What's the MS warranty on it-a year? If something's going to break, I'd assume it'd be in the manufacturer's waranty period. In the case of the Xbox, I've heard of a couple of manufacturing defects that you should be able to identify quite easily (no sound etc.), which would mean a straight exchange of a defective unit.

Buy it from Future Shop. That's what I did, along with the 2 year extended warranty for $50 as previously mentioned in this thread.

Every console I've ever bought is only 90 days. I'm not sure what logic you have to use to convince yourself that if something is going to break, it'll be within the manufacturers warrenty period.

Things break over time, and the more you use it, the more it has a chance of breaking. With the HD, DVD Rom, and fans all moving around inside the box, I would think that a 3 year warrenty would be a good idea.

Especially with the problems that have already developed. How are we to know that there won't be something else that won't show it's ugly head in a few months?

FS's warranty is an exchange warrenty for the full 3 years. So if you have any problem with it, you take it back and get a new one

I forgot to mention that the warranty from Futureshop includes the controllers. So if any of your controllers decide to die on you, just walk into FS and they'll give you a straight exchange.
