Question about NAD T750 (probably all T7xx) (1 Viewer)

I have a NAD T750 reciever with 5.1 inputs. When these inputs are selected, is the preamp section bypassed completely (volume, tone, etc don't work)? How do most amps with X.1 inputs handle them.
