Hi im a newbie I need help I just bought a home theater system and a sony receiver and i got everything setup already. There is a option of choosing digital cinema sound and choosing cinema studio ex. Should i choose the option of using cinema stuido ex?

I imagine that most people prefer to listen to movies with no Digital Signal Processing. It comes down to personal preference. I find that most DSP modes sound echoey and artificial.

I agree with Chris stick with pure DD or DTS for movies. But go ahead and play around with the dsp modes if you wish and see how they sound. IMO if you want to hear what the movie is supposed to sound like bypass the dsp modes. Same with music, stick with 2ch and avoid all the processing. ;)
