Went to play a tape on my VCR thru the video input to my 42PX25 and the image was a 75%/25% split screen of the image from the VCR. I then swapped the VCR to the other 2 video inputs and got the same result. The image produced by a 2nd VCR and the output from my HT receiver OSD was the same. The picture produced by the HDMI and component inputs are fine. I Also tried un-plugging the set for a while, that did not help.

Service guy arrived and after calling the tech center, told me that this was due to an EPROM getting wiped. Sometime the problem results in a horizontal split screen, other times a vertical split screen. He needs to order a jig that will allow him to re-load the code with updated code that won't self-destruct.
Panasonic is very aware of this problem with this set (and others).
So, since I'm out of warranty I get to pay about $200 for them to fix a known problem. Oh well, welcome to the 'bleeding edge'
