--Certain posts contain dated information/technology--need updating. VHS/VCRs. Budgeting #s. Displays.

--Need much more on HD formats & format war.

--Need some info on recordable DVD formats.

    ================================================== ==============

Post #2: Contains dead "center" tags.

#4: All links (except "Avia") dead.

#10: Dead link to "DD-EX & DTS-ES encoded movies listing".

    #11: $$$ figures still accurate?

#17: One bad link in center of post "HERE is a link to some under-$100 units posted from AUG '02."

#21: Most info on HDTV still seems valid, but some wording such as:

    ...is dated.

#23: Has an illegal parameter for a font size in the title.

#24: Nate Anderson's Why do we need DVD? Isn't VHS good enough?
seems too dated to be very informative anymore.

#29: Link to a specific page on The Digitial Bits is invalid. Link takes you to the Bits' homepage.

#34: Great list, but could probably use some newer additions.

#41: Has some old "List" parameters which now don't work.

#42: Do these still exist? Maybe move to a new section?

#50: Suffers from weird formatting...maybe because of those solid lines used to separate sections.

#56: References a .jpg which is missing and has outdated "center" tags.

#58: More weird formatting of a Neil Joseph thread. I believe the solid lines are the culprit. They force a "squeeze" of the left-hand column.

#60: Has a missing .jpg referenced with out-of-date "center" tags.

#62: Vince's Laserdisc post has six dead links. Five of the six refer to other articles within the Primer/FAQ (so could be easily fixed).

#66: It seems much of the information contained in this post about the various "special editions" offered by various studios is now out-of-date. The generic information about SEs vs. bare-bones is still valid, it is the info about Fox' "Five-Star" collection and InfiniFilm releases to which I am referring.

#70: Contains a dead link to RadioShack.com for their SPL meter.

#71: Are $$$ figures still valid?

#73: Vince cited a dozen HTF threads at the end of the post. All those links are now broken. The two Digital Bits links are still okay.

#75: Vince cited fifteen HTF links on white van speakers at the end of this post. All are dead. I believe the final three non-HTF links are still okay.

#76: Vince's HTPC post contains a dead link to the HTF HTPC Forum and several dead links to the AVS forum (only one--the first--is not broken). There is a clump of six dead AVS links at the end of the post. All other links to specific companies seem okay.

#79: Neil's link to a Dell article on DVI doesn't seem correct.

#81: Has a link to a BFD site which still works...but only with a couple of re-directs. Link should be updated.

#85: Adam's region Coding has a dead HTF link in the last paragraph.

#86: Has a dead HTF link near the end. Nuance link is okay.

#88: Info is fine, but poster's HTF name is "imported_Brian L".

#89: Contains numerous links. All are likely okay...except for FIVE HTF links which are sprinkled throughout: the very first link (which I think references another Primer post), DVE discussion thread, a post from Guy Kuo, and the last two links of the post (which also reference other Primer posts).

    ================================================== ==============

THIS IS THE LINK to Radio Shack's current version of their SPL Meter.

Everything should be there, but sometimes there are several topics in one post. E.g., my discussion of "anamorphic DVD" is in the same post as my "common aspect ratios" discussion. I initially wrote it as one topic, but Vince asked me to subdivide it.

Gotcha. But couldn't find the Greg Yurkovic post(s). In fact, couldn't find a Greg Yurkovic who is a member of the forum...unless he is "Greg Y".

Can you help with that one, Michael?

I've still got some tweaking to do. But you'll be hearing from me soon that the links are all fixed and with some ideas for further fix-up! [IMG]
