Hello, I am the proud owner of the new Mits WD-y57 and my question is, Is there a way to get a better picture when viewing regular(standard) digital cable signal?? My HD looks terrific but SD looks terrible. If not does anyone know of a 57-61" tv does SD great along with HD? There are only 10 HD channels on my cable system. Any help would be appreciated. I have 3 weeks left on the return policy from CC.

After viewing HD broadcast, SD doesn't look that good anymore. Some channels are good, some are horrible. It's not the fault of the TV.

I have the Samsung HL-S5086W DLP and while HD almost always looks amazing, the SD stuff through my cable provider is a mixed bag. A good portion of the stuff on the digital teir looks either good or very good depending on the channel and the amount of compression TWC decides to use. The basic cable stuff, which is still sent analog, goes from pretty good to barely passable. As Sami mentioned, it all depends on the channel and is not really the fault of your set in most cases.

An HD set allows you to see many things you could never see on any other television - including the flaws in your SD signals. :)

It's inverse 3:2 pulldown.

1080i 59.94 really = 1080i 29.97.

I agree with Ron that the best content will be 1080p24 as it runs at 23.98 fps, the same frame rate that the film was originally shot.
