Thanks for the heads up on this fun gem. I'm going to watch it tonight on Hulu with my son since he loves Stranger Things and this has a real ST vibe to it.

Oh my! This came out 10 years ago?!?!

I saw it in the theater and liked it, but haven’t seen it since and haven’t really had any desire to. But I’m happy for those who want it on 4K, and I always like to hear about more and more films getting a 4K disc release.

Why HD at all?!?! I’m still watching VHS tapes on my tube tv and couldn’t be happier!

I guess I’m not just woke enough to jump on the band wagon to say that this film should be released in 4K, when there are others that should be, IMO.

Please, woke has nothing to do with it! Either you like the movie or you don't which in your case is the latter. Such an opinion is fine because I'm sure there are some film titles you really like and want to see on 4K disc that I don't care for. It's called film appreciation and it has little to do with being woke.

Funny how the generations have different points of reference. I think at the time, many people said it had a "Goonies" vibe. :D
Yeah, I remember the Goonies comparison. I honestly didn’t think it had the “vibe” at all of the 80’s movies it was compared to, but just had certain tropes. I think Stranger Things did what Super 8 was doing a lot better.

It doesn't matter whether or not you "jump on the bandwagon." Super 8 IS being released in 4K. How about just being happy for the people who DO like this film that it's happening?

Beyond that, it makes total sense that Super 8, which is just under ten years old and directed by a big-name director like J.J. Abrams, would come to 4k. It's not like a random low-budget movie like Friday The 13th Part 2 is coming to UHD.
