Panny DVD 62 & 82 what would be better? (1 Viewer)

I'm going to be buying a progressive scan dvd player soon to replace what I have been using the PS2 as my primary DVD player, should I expect a significant peformance difference from a dedicated DVD player instead of the PS2, or the XBOX? The TV I have is the Panny PT-47WX49, I'm pretty sure my TV has a line doubler, so would progressive scan really make that much of a difference? My other question is what's the big difference between the Panny DVDRP62S and the Panny 82 that everyone seems to really enjoy on these fourms? I can't find the 82 anywhere locally would the 62 be a bad choice? It's about a $30 dollar price difference from what I've seen on the net. Also what about the Sony DVPNS715P, is this similar to the 82, or more towards the 62? Which would be a better choice? Thanks for your help.
