Wow! That is a great price. I just bought a Infocus 4805 and have not set it up yet. Is this projector better for the same price. Should I bring the 4805 back and get this one instead? Oh no, buyer remorse.
The dealer will hate me if I bring it back, but at least I haven't opened yet.
The 4805 features a 16:9 format DLP chip in 854x480 resolution, and a six-segment, 4x speed color wheel. As is typical with many home theater projectors these days, the lumen output is relatively low, rated at a maximum of 750 ANSI lumens. However, contrast is a very high 2200:1. Therefore, for best results the unit should be used in a darkened viewing space with little or no ambient light.
The L500 features a 16:9 format LCD with a physical resolution of 1280x720. Brightness rating of 850 lumens. Contrast ratios up to 1300:1.
Just ordered mine from costco. Even with having to pay sales tax, it still came out cheaper. From what I understand, the lifetime satisfaction guarantee is actually honored. For an LCD product that makes it an amazing deal. Now any suggestions on a good place to order a reasonably priced 16:9 screen?
I own the Panasonic ae500, and have owned the X1 and seen the 4205 in action and in my opinion the AE500 has a substantial advantage in HD resolution. Getting it with Costco's return policy would be absolute icing on the cake...
