It appears you have it configured for a center channel, and that receiver (It's a receiver, not just an "amp") has dolby digital 5.1. You need to set the optical digital audio output on the TV to something like "Dolby Digital" in the setup menu. Then it might kick in the center channel, or you might have to push a + or - "Mode" button until it gets to "Dolby Digital". Once that's done, if you leave it alone, you shouldn't have to do it again.

Ok thanks for the info I will give it a try it's new to me I bought an onkeyo one off eBay I can't get any sound from it I've tried on two different TVs.the guy on eBay said just bin it but it's a newish one with WiFi and Bluetooth HDMI and so on but don't know if it's a chip blown or is it trying to fix it see if I can buy a new hdmi bord and fit it myself it's cost me nothing.
