Hi Guys, I just got a new home and I want to finish the basement sometime in the next little while.

I want to be able to put:

1)a bathroom
2)storage
3)gym to hold, bowflex, elpitical trainer and weight bench
4)home theatre with door going to office/equipment room
5)Either a small room or have some open area for kids to play

I have been walking around down there and have no idea how I would want to lay this out or how to lay it all out so it looks good and not all cramped up.


can anyone look at my plans and give me some tip/pointers?

The top two floors of the house add up to 2035 sq feet.

Well, I guess you need to figure out what the minimum space for each room will need to be. (ie: how much room do you need for storage, kids to play, fit your bowflex.. etc)

Just looking at your pic, I'd say the HT would fit well facing either one of those bay-out spaces... depending on how big of an HT you're looking to build.

rick if you can post a larger image of that plan and include some dimensions I may be able to give you some ideas
