Need Help, having problems with HK receiver (1 Viewer)

Can anyone provide some help on a problem I'm having with an AVR 225. When powering on, the receiver displays a "PROTECT" message on the display, then promptly shuts down. I have checked for possible shorts on the speaker terminals, but nothing seems to keep it from going into shutdown mode. Any suggestions?
