I'm trying to hook up my cable T.V. to my receiver, I know theres nothing wrong with the cable because I've tested it out on my other components. The cable is hooked up from the T.V.'s audio out into the receiver's (Harmon Kardon AVR110) video 3 audio in jack, specified by the receiver's manual.
Is there a certain way to hook it up when using cable T.V.? I know this isn't a simple question but I hope somebody knows what's going on or has any suggestions, thank you.

If you are trying to send the TV's audio out from the TV
and into the Receiver then you have to check and see if
your TV has a menu for Audio Settings. I know with my
TV I can select Fixed Output(SpeakersOff) Non Fixed Output
(Speakers On) and Fixed Output (Speakers On)
