I finished my first DIY sub yesterday. The cabinet is a 54L sealed box design from Adire Audio, Dayton 12" DVC and 150W plate amp from PE. The spikes are custom made from

I would like to thanks everyone in this forum for helping me through this process, especially Brian Bunge, ThomasW and Dan Wiggins of Adire Audio for answering all my dump questions :)
DanW, I'm sorry for not using your Shiva driver and Hypex HS200 amp, as I initially had planned, because I ran out of funding. Hopefully, I'll have another opportunity to try out your products on my next project.

Derrick,
Glad I could help! The sub looks great! I had to right click on each link and then copy and past in another browser but it worked fine.
Edit: Well, the pics show up fine now.
Good Job! (And I didn't even charge you a consulting fee!) :)

Jeffrey,

So far, I'm very happy with the sound. It deliver a nice tight bass that will complement my Norh SM6.9 speaker. However, I need to do some calibration which I have no clue yet.

Nice job there, Derrick. Those spikes look sharp (hahah.. get it.. spikes... sharp?)

What kind of finish is that on the box?

JeffTood,
The outside dimension is 18" H x 15.5" W x 14" D. It's the same plan for the 54L sealed Shiva box from www.adireaudio.com
Dave Poehlman,
I used Rustoleum glossy black paint for both side panels and Krylon gray paint for the rest of the box. Yes, the spikes are very very sharp :)

Cam,
Thanks for the complement. Yes, the spikes add an elegant touch to the sub. It was specially custom made for me by Ron Peters at Link Removed
