My wife just brought me home a small bag of these things to have with lunch. Sooooo yummy. I'm not big on various chips, Doritos, and other snacky cakes type foods, but there's just something about Funyuns that makes my mouth water...

I personally can't stand real onions, but Funyuns are da bomb. I use 'em to crunch my burger up.

Me too. There are certain items, mostly sold in gas station stores, that I consider essential "road trip food." Everytime I do a road trip, I like to buy beef jerkey (the hotter the better) and Funyuns. I never eat these things any other time.

Funyuns are the food of kings! I've been eating them as long as I can remember. Slim Jims, Funyuns and a big gulp Dr Pepper.

I love Funyuns as well, even though they seem to tear the hell out of the roof of my mouth much in the same way Cap'n Crunch does.

3 things tear the roof of my mouth up. The two have already been mentioned, and the third is a toasted BLT. No idea why just that one, but it does the trick.

Tried the funyuns thanks to all of you and must say I much prefer pork rinds to funyuns! LOL Haven't had those in years.

When my father and I use to do road trips our essential foods were:

The long flat beef jerky (slim jim brand which they no longer carry here).

64 oz. pepsi (wild cherry or regular)

pinions or pork rinds (which ever we could find)

Ding Dongs

Drakes Cakes

and

starburst or skittles

Oh those were the days when I could eat a bunch of crap and not have to hit every rest stop on the way! lol. Now a days I eat anything remotely stomach turning and it's pit stop after pit stop!

It's been many years since I've had Funyuns. All this snack talk has me craving for some Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream chips.
