Mixing Receivers brands (1 Viewer)

I wanted to buy a DVD player and Receiver of different brands, and later I want to buy a CD Receiver of another brand, are they still compatible if you mix and match brands?

The only advantages of keeping to a single brand are common remote controls and system control connections. For most of us, this isn't an issue so just mix and match as you please.

BTW, what's a CD Receiver?
