I'm posting this because I know a lot of people out there bought the Toshiba SD 3900 because it could be menu hacked to play all regions. Problem was, it didn't work 100% and you had to hack it every single time. If you own the player, you know what I'm talking about!!

Well... no more!

Go here: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php...Toshiba+SD3900

Scroll to the last post, download the 4k (very small) file, burn it to CD and follow the directions. It's the firmware utility they use at the plant to set the region code. 0 makes it entirely region free. Keep the disc, you can run it again and hard code it to 1, 2, etc. if you ever need or want to.

This has got to make the SD 3900 the best region free player out there now.

Thanks!

I no longer use my SD-3900 much because I now have a LiteOn LVD-2001 that does 1080i, but I have a friend who bought the Toshiba on my recommendation and then found a disc from region 2 that wouldn't play using the known tricks and (of course) I got blamed. Now I can redeem myself.
