Lost Surround after I hooked up Optical Audio? (1 Viewer)

Only 5.1 movies now play on tivo in Surround. Does anyone know why? Everythings in PCM on non DD 5.1 channels.

You'll have to manually switch your receiver to use Dolby Pro Logic (or something similar). If you're lucky, the receiver will remember that setting for whatever connection you're using (so you're not playing CDs in Pro Logic, for example). Unlike a true 5.1 bitstream, there's really no way for the PVR to distinguish between plain stereo and Dolby Surround encoded stereo when it digitizes the analog stereo sound. For example, the show could be in Surround, but the commercials are not.
