Bob,
I got the first Adcom sometime this late spring/early summer, and have tried a few different connections. I can't say that I heard a specific difference, but I don't run the HT to deafening levels. Current set-up, at least in theory, should be the optimum for me.
I run the two channel Adcom power amp for L & R, and let the center get the extra PS margin. The front is 3x75 or 2x85 and probably around 1x95. The surrounds run of their respective channels of 75x2. My surrounds are much closer than the mains, and setting is around 6db less.
If I had a 3 channel power amp, I'd run the surrounds off of the front L&R channels.
Todd,
Felix is right on. 200W per channel, is plenty for almost all speakers. It won't even work up a sweat. Its a good bet for future speaker upgrades, as well.
