If one has full-range mains and no sub - is it possible to get LFE from DVD (with decoding) and go via Y-connector into receiver with 'direct-ins?'

Full well realize that 'full range' will still not go as low as dedicated sub - but at least 'someything might be better than nothing' until proper sub purchased.

Many decoders will lump the LFE material into the mains when you select sub "NO" and mains large, so you might not need to use a workaround like Y adaptors.

Although, I guess IN THEORY if you did Y the LFE signal into two lines, and then connected a Y to each of your L/R inputs and then connected both 1/2 of the LFE to each of the L/R along with the actual L/R, it should "work". Although you will experience some reduction in signal level- and will have to have pretty good control to blend everything.

Of course, with the signals summed going into a single input, you do run the risk of overloading the input and damaging, well, damaging everything (Preamp stage, amplifier stage, speakers)...
