LCD Gaming... Anyone? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I currently have an older 19" CRT. My company gets large discounts on Dell products. I think I may go with a 17" LCD, the 171FPb. I remember everyone talking about ghosting and image tearing on LCD's. I was wondering if anyone plays games on a LCD... in particular, Unreal, Quake, and other fast moving games.

I do, a small slow 15" Viewsonic. It's a distraction in some parts but I learned to live with it. I think Dell still sells the Planars with 16ms response times. That should ease your eyes on gaming.

I have a Dell 1702fp and I haven't noticed any ghosting while playing games. Like Scott mentioned the key thing to look for is a low response time. The E171FPb has a 25ms response time, as does the 1702fp. It's not the lowest that you can get, but it's still pretty good so I wouldn't anticipate any problems.
