JACK AND THE BEANSTALK was inspired by Lou's two year old daughter, Chris Costello. While reading the classic story to her, Lou felt the timeless tale would make a delightful vehicle for Abbott and Costello's many young fans.

Generations have now grown up enjoying this classic film and we are SO happy that you are helping us to restore and preserve it for future generations. Please continue to share the news about this campaign so that more people will have an opportunity to contribute and see their name on-screen in the Restoration credits.

Thank you!

Just put in my $40, Bob! Haven't ever seen this particular A & C film before, but didn't want to pass up the chance to help out just a tiny bit...plus see the boys in color (not to mention all those amazing extras).

Thanks again for all the hard work you and your colleagues do!

It's hard NOT to have come across this one, since, like Africa Screams, it was one of their off-Universal titles that fell into official Public Domain, so you can find a less clean version on just about any cheapjack streaming service...Unless you'd rather wait for the good-looking version.

Anyway, they already had me at Dorothy Ford: :D

Thank you, Allen!

I had a great time on this weeks Gilbert Gottfried podcast with Leonard Maltin and Ron Palumbo. We talk about Bud and Lou's 80th anniversary and I share some Martin and Lewis stories as well. Enjoy!

While doing some sorting in the VHS collection this afternoon I came across this. There are those who will remember the excitement of coming home in 1986 with this nine dollar and ninety-nine cent Goodtimes Home Video release. The quality was lousy, but Goodtimes was a PD label, so expectations were always low. Now, all these years later it comes full circle with these restorations, and the honor of actually being able to play a very small role in making it happen.
