I was looking into a a reciever that decodes DD and DTS. I saw this on the Pioneer sight reconditioned. It's in my price range. Is it a good receiver. I love Pioneer products. I have a Sony DD ready receiver(5 years old) and a Sony 550D dvd player with a DD decoder, so I have DD but not DTS. What does everyone think about this receiver.

What kind of price on this unit.. I know you can get the 509s at cosco for $199 and I'm running in my bedroom. It realy is not the power its rated..but i love the remote and it has a lot features found in the higher end models. My manual is for the 409/509s...so I guess they are compatable..
good luck..and any other info on this unit..just ask.

The 709 is even better and has been for sale at costco for $269. And is capable of doing EX with an outboard DPL decoding! The 409 or the 509 will not do this. And the 709 has 5.1 inputs for DVD audio if you wish.
