Hello,

I need advice. A couple years ago I set up a surround for myself and one for my parents. I bought duplicate systems which consisted of 4 Sony satellites, a center and a powered sub.

My father has never been satisfied with the center channel; he claims it is too harsh. I personally suspect that it isn’t tweaked as well as it could be. On the other hand I may not be as discerning.

I would like to replace the center channel with something a bit more robust. I have no idea what to get as it has been over 15 years since I knew anything about speakers, my last purchase of serious speakers were the venerable Boston Acoustic A60s' (great speakers that I think I may start using as my R/L speakers, any comments?).

Here are my prerequisites:

Not too expensive.
Not too large, needs to sit atop a 27” Trinitron

On a similar note: Any recommendations for the least expensive (say $300 or so) but acknowledged good 5 channel system available?

Thanks in advance.

Fr. John
