In need of decent bookshelf speakers (1 Viewer)

I'm looking for a simple pair of bookshelf speakers for my brother. He doesn't want to spend more than around 60 bucks for them. Any suggestions? Please include model numbers if possible.

Polk did have the R10s I think which were something like $80/pair at Circuit City but sometimes on sale for $40/pair. Check the Polk website and Circuit City to see if they are still available.

This is going to sound strange, but about the best speakers I've heard for that amount of money were the RCA 75 Watt 2-Way Bookshelf speakers from Radio Shack with their linaeum speakers. For the money, they're very nice imho. I've seen them go on sale for about half price which would put them in range of your friend's budget.

My advice, something used that is physically and mechanically in great shape but most likely cosmetically challenged.
