HTPC Ati Dongle ISSUE!!! (1 Viewer)

I finally hooked up the Purple Dongle with component cables to the back of my HDTV and the picture looks awesome while booting up, BUT as soon as windows XP starts, the picture just gets all shaky..cant even click on Exit or Shut Down.

What gives?

System Config:

AMD Athlon 2500
ATI Radeon 9600XT
Asus A7NX - Delux
On-board Sound through S-PDIF
40 Gig HD
380 Watts PSU
Windows XP Pro

It could be the resolution or refresh rate? Typically when windows is booting up the splash screen is 640x480 @ 60hz. I would adjust your refresh rate to 60hz first, and see if that helps. If it doesn't then you can set your resolution to 640x480.

But wait a minute, you can't set 640x480 in windows XP? Sure you can.

Go to your display proporties. Select the settings tab where you can adjust the resolution. Click on the Advanced button. Locate the display adapter Tab. Click on the button "list all modes" and find 640x480 @ 60hz.

Get PowerStrip as well. Most definately needed for RPTV's.
