I've seen Johnny Mnemonic in the Walmart bargin bin for $5.88, but passed because it looked like it was foolscreen only (per the packaging).

Today, I checked another copy in the same bin and found one that indicated widescreen and full!?

Then I checked IMDb and found that there may be two R1 versions, but they both seem to be the same...except for the catalog number. I got the 73479 version, which indicates widescreen and full on the back.

It seem's odd that Tristar would release a full screen version and a widescreen version (with full screen included) on the same day.

So...if you want 16x9 Johnny Mnemonic for $5.88...and that's about all it's worth (I hear)...it's at Walmart.

I have the SB - looks and sounds good, but then...I liked the movie.
I liked the story, and I picked up a $5.88 DVD from WalMart too.

However, it always cracks me up to see everyone shooting paintball guns.... They didn't even bother to disguise them like in most low-budget scifi movies.

Sigh... Didn't they think people would notice?
